GirlTip: How To Stop Second-Guessing Yourself

Monday Morning GirlTip: Let's stop second-guessing ourselves this week. If you are questioning yourself, or talking yourself in and out of something, try this:1. Validate your feelings. Tell yourself you have the right to feel any way you want to feel (doesn't mean you'll love those feelings!). Trust me on this: if you don't take your feelings seriously, you may as well forget about taking your thoughts or actions seriously too. Remember: you don't have to act on the feelings. But as a baseline, you have to respect them.

2. What are the values that are most important to you in the situation you're second-guessing? Is the value integrity? Loyalty? Community? This is an anchor that will help you stand more firmly inside of yourself and your choice.3. What is your ultimate goal in the situation you are second-guessing? What do you want here, big picture? How will this thing that you're overthinking help you achieve that goal -- or not? Here is another anchor: if this decision will help you get there, try to stop questioning it.4. What's the worst thing that can happen if you make this decision or stop second-guessing? Can you live with that?
