See NYU Professor Marion Nestle’s Food Politics blog about this today. http://www.foodpolitics.com/2010/03/recognize-food-brands-even-3-year-olds-do-this/#comments Comments are worth reading too. One points out that many of today’s parents, especially younger parents in their 20s, were themselves targeted by the same junk food marketers so it’s even harder for them to withstand the marketer-driven whine of their kids for chicken mcnuggets, etc.

Excellent post! We need the FTC to regulate a great deal,if not all, of the market for our children.

Worth repeating:
“want have an impact on the epidemic of children obesity, it is time to give the Federal Trade Commission back its powers to regulate marketing to children. It is time to put protecting the interests of children and families above the greed of marketers.”
