GirlTip #18: “Pushing” in Conflict

By Rachel Simmons | August 24th, 2009 | 0 comments

Place the palms of your hands against someone else’s and push. The other person almost always pushes back. It’s instinct to defend ourselves, & the same is true in conflict. You can reduce pushing in conflict by avoiding sentences that start with “You” & naming your feelings. Try to stay away from “angry” or “annoyed.” Go deeper: are you hurt? Anxious? Push less & increase your skillfulness in relationship.
